Empowering Communities, Eradicating Poverty
Poverty is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, affecting millions...
The acronym SPEDP stands for “Support for Peace and Education Development Programme”. SPEDP was founded in 2007 by professional and social development workers. SPEDP is currently operating in eight of the ten States of South Sudan namely: Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Western Equatoria, Unity and Upper Nile. The organisation has also been registered in Uganda and is operating in Koboko, Yumbe and Arua Districts that host mostly South Sudanese refugees who fled the country following the December 2013 and the July 2016 conflicts which erupted in Juba.
At SPEDP, we believe in creating sustainable solutions that uplift communities and transform lives. Through innovative development projects, education, and empowerment initiatives, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and foster resilience. Together, we can build a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a prosperous, self-reliant society. Join us in making a difference that lasts!
In SPEDP, Resilience building relies mainly on integrated programming—a cross-sectoral approach with a long-term commitment to improving three critical capacities: absorptive capacity, adaptive capacity, and transformative capacity.
