SPEDP promotes innovation and provides for standardization and harmonization of broader management capabilities, including the support to developing the capacities of thematic units. The priority of the Research and Innovation Unit is conducting research on stakeholders especially the target population to identify their needs, constraints and challenges.
Delivering health care to the populations in low income countries is a huge challenge to both the public and private sector and it’s even worse in war torn countries. SPEDP continues to play a crucial role in the health and nutrition sector in delivering quality health care to various communities using integrated approaches to increase access to curative and preventive health and nutrition services.
In SPEDP, Resilience building relies mainly on integrated programming—a cross-sectoral approach with a long-term commitment to improving three critical capacities: absorptive capacity, adaptive capacity, and transformative capacity at household and communities affected by shocks and stresses. The integrated approaches ensures that all sectors work together to address key leverage points and adopt complementary, synergistic strategies to promote resilience.
